Limited Edition Giclée Print 226 - 'Flanders Wish'
'Flanders Wish' is another of Dave's pieces with a black background and the detailing completed in vibrant contrasting colour. Very different from Dave's usual subjects, it features a pair of dandelions and a poppy flower, the stem of which is of barbed wire. The contrast in this particular painting is provided by the crimson of the poppy and the lightness of the dandelions against the black backdrop.
The painting has the additional military relationship in that dandelions are the adopted emblem of military children (or pad brats as they are affectionately known in military circles).
