171 Open Edition Giclée Print 171 - 'Ayo Gurkhali'
After numerous requests, Dave has painted something to represent the thousands of Nepalese Gurkha soldiers who have served with the British army since 1814. Named after their battle cry 'Ayo Gurkhali' it depicts Gurkha troops surging over trenches, brandishing their distinctive Kukri blades.
Painted in Dave's easily recognisable style, with stark backgrounds, silhouetted figures and contrasting splashes of colour - in this instance provided by the crimson of the poppy flower.
